How learning and development opportunities impact retention

Nicole Martin: Gaining experience working in collaboration and #sharescreation is something we call #lifeaffirmingwork🙏 at HRBOOST. This is excellent DATA from a large sample✅ of talent. 📣 May we all find our work experience to be an intellectual playground. I truly believe that development has a strong qualitative built into it. The intrinsic here is genuine care for the human in the role.

Development is the most retention often cited reason for employee attrition, according to the latest interesting findings from Culture Amp using data 📈 from more than 9.5 million employees across 5,500+ organizations , and have identified growth and development as key drivers of engagement, retention, and business performance.

Employee Retention

📣 Employees who don’t feel they have access to L&D 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝟐𝐗 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞𝐥𝐲 to leave in 12 months.

☝️ Lack of career growth and development was the top reason (37,1%) selected at the time of exit – by ⅓ of employees. As a matter of fact, an employee’s dissatisfaction with development shows in engagement survey responses months prior to actually leaving.

💡 This demonstrates how important an investment in employee development can improve the employee experience in 3 key areas:
1️⃣ Retention
2️⃣ Engagement
3️⃣ Performance

# HR has an incredible opportunity to empower managers and individual contributors with a structure or framework that embeds development into the employee experience and better attract and retain talent.

✅  If organization want to keep people in a role longer, they need to give them something to look forward to in their career as a result of being in that role.
