Your February Booster Shot from HRBOOST®

Happy February!

We have been busy Boosters and doing some of our favorite work. I am happy to share two pictures of what I personally have been enjoying.

Partnering with Russ Warye, President and Founder of Benefit Partners Group to kickoff his Culture Invitation for 2020. They all embraced his invitation and with 100% participation, his team will be hands on in maintaining the energy in 2020 for a culture by design with our GAPM/ACM Methodology and Tools. You can too! For only $500.00, you get 4 GAPM Surveys in 12 months if you have less than 100 employees. Quotes available for >100 employees. And you better believe this service is INCLUDED for our a retainer clients.

I was also thrilled to Kickoff our Character Based Capitalism (CBC) Leadership Program for our valued client, The Rankin Group. President, Lindsey Bombino extended her vision for CBC among her leaders from across the nation. Dr. Ray Benedetto of GuideStar and I enjoyed facilitating the Kickoff event and look forward to personally facilitating this team with our Leadership System Programming throughout 2020! If you are seeking leadership training, know that this program is not training! This is character based leadership development and if you are seeking this for your own leaders, give me a call!

** Upcoming Webinar **

What is a HRIS, HCM or HMS System anyway?

If you’re asking yourself these questions about your current HR system:

  • Am I paying too much for things I don’t need?
  • How are these reports better?
  • Why is my current system so hard?

It’s time to discover something better.

That’s why I am hosting a webinar on February 25th at 12pm Central, where I will help you address the problems you’re having with your existing system, find out what you need to be successful, and how to do it easily.

** Compliance You Need to Know **

I wanted to be sure you know that as expected, a NEW I-9 Form has been issued. The new version is dated 10/21/2019 but will not become mandatory until May 1. Through April 30, employers can choose to use the previous edition dated 07/17/2017 or the new edition. U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) publishes a paper I-9 Form and an electronic, fillable I-9 Form. The new version of the paper form has no changes from the prior version. The only change is to the date that it is valid and expires. And this does matter as your forms will be invalid (should you be audited) even if completed after the grace period closes.

The I-9 Form is used to verify the identity and employment authorization of individuals hired for employment in the United States. All U.S. employers must properly complete the Form I-9 for each person they hire for employment in the U.S., including both citizens and non-citizens and not later than 72 hours from start date. New hires and employers, or their authorized representatives, must complete the form. Employers must retain the completed forms for a designated period and make them available for inspection when called to do so.

*** A Cool Concept, I like it! ***

I was recently networking with Clay Martin who recruits hundreds of job seekers every year from Puerto Rico for the manufacturing, landscape and hospitality industry. As I'm sure you know, since Puerto Ricans are American citizens, they do not need a visa so there is no red tape! These candidates are looking for a better opportunity and we like to provide it for them by identifying employers with attractive company cultures.

*** What’s new in Mentoring? ***

I believe Mentorship can be a critical advantage when done right! That is why I took some time to get to know Garrett Mintz this month. We talked about why small and medium businesses need mentoring.

*** The talent has won and many are seeking it! ***

Finding and keeping quality employees poses a challenge for business owners of all sizes. The top challenge across industries and companies of all sizes is finding the right talent. So, what strategies can you use to find and hire the best talent with limited budgets or resources?

It is a profound privilege to be featured in Business Brainiac's "The 10 Most Trailblazing Business Leaders To Watch in 2020." From the featured article:

"Every leader has a journey, which describes the places traversed to reach the final destination. These places of challenges, strategies, competition, wins, and losses, all have to be navigated to reach the ultimate place of success. What does it take to be a successful leader? Is it the vision, management, leadership skills, or any innate talent? There are many traits and definitions for a leader, but for an inspiring story like Nicole Martin’s all it takes is the utmost courage."
