A Booster Shot from HRBOOST® (Dec 2018): Care in the Workplace

Send Joy in Time for the New Year! Blessings abound from all of us at HRBOOST®.

Happy Thursday!

During this time of year, we feel very grateful for the businesses that care to invest in their teams. I have chosen this month’s newsletter to be dedicated to CARE IN THE WORKPLACE as we often forget that appreciation is more than recognition and to care we must take time to listen and learn from those around us. With this in mind, we commit to sharing best practices and this month was no exception. Please enjoy our content focused on CARE and may you be blessed with the presence of those that CARE this holiday.

God Bless you and yours!

Blessings Abound,
Nicole

For years employers have elected to have Employee Assistance Programs, commonly known as EAPs to support employees and their families. It can often take much internal management support and proactive recommendation to see good utilization. For counseling, referral, and last chance agreements EAPs have been, and will continue to be, a valued employer benefit.

The student, the person, the player—these are all roles I have learned to play along the way on this journey called life. The most important lesson I have learned is that there are no guarantees or handouts. I had to learn those lessons the hard way.

As the top-ranked basketball player in Missouri and sixth overall in the nation at the Nike All American basketball camp, I felt I had the world in my palm.

Both small and large companies need to attract talent then develop and retain the best talent for their organizations. Both non-profits and for-profit businesses must comply with the ever-changing maze of the regulatory environment. When it comes to talent however, non-profit businesses have a hidden competitive advantage. They lead with heart. Nearly every non-profit has their transcendent organizational purpose at the forefront of their vision and mission statement.
